SOFTWARE ENGINEER // BROOKLYN, NY

Software engineer working across automation and client-facing products.

I’m Matthew Shvorin, a software engineer who’s worked across internal tools, backend systems, automation, and data-heavy workflows. The work I’m most drawn to is anything genuinely useful, especially client-facing systems, automation, and AI-driven tools.

Some of the work I’m proudest of includes building data-enrichment workflows by analyzing network requests, handling session and cookie injection, and working through reCAPTCHA-style barriers, as well as building a server-hosted trading bot that let traders send execution commands through WhatsApp.

Family

Me and my brother.

I have six siblings, and I hope each of them carries the same curiosity for technology, or for whatever field they choose to go into.

A lot of what drives me comes from wanting to keep learning, keep building, and keep figuring things out, and I’d love for them to have that same kind of curiosity in their own lives too.

About

What I’m good at

I tend to do well when there are a lot of moving parts and no perfectly clean path forward. Old systems, messy workflows, heavy SQL, backend logic, data work, frontend cleanup, I’m comfortable stepping into whatever the project needs.

The work I’m proudest of usually helps in a real way. It saves time, removes friction, cuts down on mistakes, or makes something less frustrating for the people using it.

I also like working closely with people to understand what they actually need, turn that into a real plan, and explain clearly how we’re going to do it. Once we know the goal, I’m someone who sticks with it until it’s done right.

What matters to me

Being useful to a team matters to me. That can mean building something new, improving something old, or stepping into a problem that just needs ownership and follow-through.

Adapting quickly has become one of my strengths. Learning new tools, picking up the shape of a codebase, and getting productive fast is a big part of how I work.

Two Google mentorships through Basta and a mentorship with Yext were a big part of my growth. They helped me think more seriously about system design, engineering standards, and the kind of engineer I want to keep becoming.
